Hollie Kenney
Hollie Kenney is the former Head Cross Country, Track and Assistant Swimming coach at the Johns Hopkins University, and is the current Red Giants Masters swimming coach here in Steiner Ranch. Hollie is a 17 time All American, former Professional Triathlete. 6 time Ironman finisher, which includes 2 podium finishes at the Ironman Hawaii World Championships, a top 5 at Ironman Lake Placid and winner of over two dozen triathlons world wide. She holds 2 of the top 8 fastest Master swimming times for the 1650 and an overall winner for the 4 x 800 mixed free relay. Along with coaching masters swimming programs for the last 15 years, she has been teaching kids of all ages how to swim for over 20 years and is very much looking forward to working with the Shooting Stars swim program for the 2011 swim season.

Karl heads to either UT or A & M in the fall where he will study Engineering. He is a fabulous athlete in basketball and soccer as well as swimming. He will bring a passion for competition and a longtime devotion to our Stars' program.

Thomas started swimming when he was 11-years-old, and placed at the state level in high school swimming. He is currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University where he majors in Aerospace Engineering.

Tom is in his 5th year coaching the Stars. Tom swam for the Stars for many years but now leads from the pool deck. He graduated from CPHS as a team captain and All-State performer in the 500 free. Tom is a rising sophomore at Rice University where he studies Computer Science and plays water polo. He is our resident breastroke teaching guru. Tom has a real aptitude for working with young swimmers and loves being part of the Stars.

Karen has been coaching for the Stars since age 13! A recent Rice graduate, Karen served as team captain for two years and was a part of Rice's first conference swimming championship in school history her senior year. She was Rice swimming's top scholar-athlete and a member of the Conference USA Academic All-Conference team. Sadly, this will be her last season with the Stars as she leaves in the fall to pursue a doctorate in Sociology/Demography at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Karen bleeds Stars' Red!

Ashley has been swimming competitively for 9 years on club. She is in the National group of Nitro Swimming and is a distance swimmer. In the fall, she will be a student-athlete at the University of North Carolina Wilmington to continue her passion for the sport.
