General Information
Swimmers should attend practice at their regular scheduled time on Thursday, Aug 12th for the end of season meet. Each swimmer will have the choice to swim a lap of each stroke for a time. Once the swimming is done at each practice, cookies and drinks will be provided. Each swimmer will also receive an award.
This program is designed for swimmers ages 5 to 12 and focuses on the development of competitive swimming skills. Coaches will focus on the development of proper technique in freestyle and backstroke moving to breaststroke and butterfly when individual swimmers are ready for that challenge level. At the end of the 4-week session, swimmers will be able to measure their improvement at an inter-squad swim meet.
The 2010 Swim Season will run from July 20th - August 12th at Bella Mar, and will be led by Coach Brendan Hansen. Coach Brendan Hansen will be available for private swim lessons starting on June 14th.
Equipment needed for the program:
- Competitive style swim suit-jammer suit for boys, one piece suit for girls.

Fins-can be bought at Lane 4. Fins with straps around the ankle are not appropriate and will rub blisters on swimmers. No specific brand is required but swimmers need fins that fit snugly around the foot.

Goggles are optional and depends on what your child prefers. Goggles can be bought at Lane 4 as well, but you can also find proper fitting goggles at other places like Academy. Swim masks and snorkels should not be brought to practice.

Swim caps are optional as well. For swimmers with longer hair, swim caps are recommended unless hair is securely fastened.

We provide kickboards and all other equipment needed for practices.
The Shooting Stars program has reached full capacity for Summer 2010 and we are no longer accepting registrations for the waitlist.
